Eloquence, accuracy, and miracles in the Holy Qur’an
Written by Dr. Shams Ragheb
Eloquence, accuracy and miracle in the Holy Qur’an. It is a great book revealed to the Prophet of God Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. It guides people to the straight path, shows them what is permissible from what is forbidden, informs them of the news of previous nations, gives them good tidings of Paradise and warns them of Hell.
Among the most important characteristics of the Holy Quran:
His eloquence: His words are carefully chosen, his meanings are deep, and his style is influential.
Its accuracy: It talks about scientific and historical facts that were not known at the time of its revelation.
His miracle: He challenged humans to come up with something like him, but they were unable to do so.
Among the manifestations of the eloquence of the Holy Qur’an:
Use similes, metaphors, and metonymies to make the meaning clearer and more impactful.
Using structural methods: such as commands, prohibitions, interrogatives, and exclamations, to make the meaning more impactful.
Using words with musical resonance: to make reading easier and more beautiful.
Among the manifestations of the accuracy of the Holy Qur’an:
He talked about scientific facts: such as the creation of the heavens, the earth, and man, the rotation of the planets, the stages of the creation of the fetus, and others.
He talks about historical facts: such as the stories of the prophets and previous nations, and historical events that were not known at the time of his revelation.
Among the manifestations of the miraculous nature of the Holy Qur’an:
He challenged people to come up with something similar to him: but they were unable to do so.
Telling him about the unseen: like telling him about future events that have already occurred.
His influence on people’s souls: He guides them to the straight path and changes their lives for the better.
The Holy Qur’an is a great book that stuns the minds, amazes the hearts, and confirms the power and greatness of God Almighty.
We pray to God Almighty to grant us understanding of the Holy Qur’an and acting upon it.
Eloquence, accuracy, and miracles in the Holy Qur’an:
• The secret of the absence of Joseph’s mother from the story of Joseph, peace be upon him •
The secret of the absence of Joseph’s mother in the story of Joseph, peace be upon him
The absence of Umm Yusuf from the context of events:
It is not mentioned in Surat Yusuf except in two places:
“And he raised his parents to the throne.”
Their prostration to him in the vision
Not mentioning her sadness, despite Jacob’s intense sadness
reason of absence:
Joseph’s mother died when giving birth to Benjamin
The mother that Joseph saw in the vision was his stepmother
Focus on Jacob’s grief
Eloquence, accuracy, and miracle in the Almighty’s saying, “And He raised his parents upon the throne”:
His “parents” include the father and mother who raised him
The “throne” is a symbol of high status
An indication of God’s generosity and tenderness
The difference between “his parents”, “parents” and “parents”:
His “parents” include his immediate father and mother
“Parents” refers to the father and mother, with the father’s side taking precedence
“Parents” refers to the father and mother, with the mother’s side taking precedence
The wisdom of God Almighty’s saying, “And be good to parents”:
Increasing the mother’s rights over the father
Emphasizing maternal care and kindness
• Why was Umm Yusuf not mentioned? The context of the events of Surat Yusuf, except in the Almighty’s saying: “And he raised his parents upon the throne.”
And their prostration to Him in the vision…
The absence of Umm Yusuf in Surat Yusuf
Umm Yusuf is not mentioned in the context of the events of Surat Yusuf except in two places:
“And he raised his parents to the throne” (Yusuf: 100)
Their prostration to Him in the vision (Joseph: 4)
the reasons:
The death of Youssef’s mother when she gave birth to Benjamin:
It is likely that Joseph’s mother died when giving birth to his brother Benjamin.
Therefore, it was not mentioned in the context of the events because it did not exist.
The mother that Joseph saw in the vision was his stepmother:
The wife who raised Joseph was the one he saw in the vision.
The Qur’an does not mention her name to focus on her role as the mother of Joseph.
Focus on Jacob’s grief:
Jacob’s grief over the loss of his son Joseph was intense.
The surah focused on his grief as Joseph’s biological father.
Highlighting the greatness of Jacob’s grief:
Jacob’s grief is an example of a father’s grief over separation from his son.
Highlighting it shows the greatness and depth of fatherly feelings.
Confirming the role of his stepmother in raising Joseph:
Although Youssef’s mother died, his stepmother played an important role in raising him.
Highlighting her role shows her grace and generosity.
Demonstrating God’s wisdom in managing events:
The death of Joseph’s mother and the role of his stepmother were planned by God.
Showing them shows God’s wisdom and power.
The accuracy of the expression in the Almighty’s saying, “And He raised his parents upon the throne”:
His “parents” include the father and mother who raised him.
The “throne” is a symbol of high status.
An indication of God’s generosity and compassion toward His servants.
The absence of Umm Yusuf from Surat Yusuf is not an oversight or deficiency, but rather a divine wisdom that shows the greatness, eloquence, and miracles of the Holy Qur’an.
• We do not find any mention of it in other places other than these two, although it is supposed
Her sadness was twice as sad as Jacob’s, whose eyes turned white from intense sadness.
•The answer is simply that Joseph’s mother died giving birth to his little brother Benjamin, and thus the mother that Joseph saw in. The vision is a wife
His father, who raised him, and the mother of his brothers, who conspired against him. Therefore, throughout the events, the focus was on Jacob. No matter how sympathetic the stepmother was, her heart yearned for his children more, and her grief would not be compared.
Jacob’s sadness
• Here we find the amazing magnificence, eloquence and accuracy of the Qur’an in the Almighty’s saying: “And He raised his parents upon the throne” Surat Yusuf.
• Because the word “his parents” would mean his direct mother by lineage. As for his parents
It means the father, the mother who raised him, or his stepmother, but it does not have to be that
The one who gave birth to him, and the use of the word “parents” refers to the father
The mother takes precedence over the father.
• As for the word “parents,” it refers to the father and mother as well, but with the mother’s side taking precedence… because giving birth is a female characteristic.
• from. Here we understand why God Almighty said: “And be good to parents” and why
God Almighty says: “And be kind to parents” to increase the mother’s right over the father
In care, benevolence and righteousness
